Providing the right product at the right price when you need it has always been the Macready aim. Since 1923, when R E J Macready began his bright bar warehouse in London N1, we have pursued that objective, by positioning ourselves as the supplier of choice for customers both large and small, and by opening bigger and better warehouses stocking an exceptionally comprehensive range of steels. We introduced innovative new products such as Usaspead and more recently the IQ range of advanced machining steels. Today we are the largest distributor of bright steels in Britain and equally capable in the fields of black bar, stainless steels, cast iron and tool room materials.

In all, we supply from stock over 5000 different products across 50 specifications in round, square, flat and hexagonal sections, in metric and imperial sizes. In the unlikely event that we can’t supply it from stock then we’ll obtain it for you.

As part of Niagara LaSalle (UK) Ltd, Macreadys is able to draw upon the group’s extensive steel mills providing us with, in effect, ‘in-house’ production facilities for hot rolling and cold finishing. Over 60% of our stock is now sourced in this way, enhancing our flexibility and our capability to offer bespoke products as well as increasing quality assurance and helping to keep our prices low.
